In early 2013, our lead Pastor Anders Lee went through an intense time of prayer with a team of 7 Pastors to determine if it was the Lord’s will to plant a new church in Desoto County. During that time God worked in his heart, proving to him through people, scripture and circumstances, that it was His will to start Central. In particular, God spoke through Colossians 1: 28, 29 & I Thessalonians 2:9 to confirm this call on his life. He now serves as a bi-vocational pastor of Central.
Here are a few facts about our short history:
- A Core Group of 8 families started church plant training in September, 2013.
- In January of 2014 the group began worship and small group meetings in the home of Anders & Carla Lee.
- On Easter of 2014, Central held its first public service with 153 in attendance.
- Our public launch took place on October 26, 2014. We rented a building located at 7135 Getwell Rd. Southaven, MS 38671. There were 154 in attendance that day
- God has added many families & ministries to the church since starting! Many more are on the verge of beginning!
- In March of 2016 we purchased land at 7100 Getwell Rd in Southaven.
- In April of 2017 we began building our very own building.
- In November of 2017, God blessed us with the completion of our building and we were able to begin holding services there.
- Central now has over 200 active people attending the church! We are excited about what God has done and look forward to the future!
